Four design decisions that everything else depends on.
Your files live in a container you own
On your device, your own hardware, or a personal cloud account you already pay for. Encrypted on your device, under keys generated there. We never receive your keys, and we operate no key escrow.
Setup is not your problem
Existing self-hosted platforms give you sovereignty and hand you a second job — provisioning, certificates, upgrades, backups. The assistant performs the administration. No operations.
Hold, process, return
The free configuration remembers nothing. When you choose a paid operation, you send one item, it is processed on models we host ourselves, the result comes back to your device, and we keep nothing afterward. No external AI vendor is in that path.
Sharing without a middleman
Files move directly between your environment and the recipient’s over an open federation protocol. We are not a party to the transfer and we cannot read what crosses it.
Your keys, and a way to carry them
Holding your own keys only works if you can move them. So you can.
Export your keys, keep them safe
Your keys are generated on your device and belong to you. Export them and store them wherever you keep the things that matter — a password manager, a hardware key, a safe. Setting up a new device means importing them back.
We hold no copy, and no escrow
There is no master key, no support override, and no administrative back door. That is what the rest of this page rests on, and it means there is nothing for anyone to compel us to produce.
Your storage stays yours
Move providers, move devices, or move off the service entirely. Your files are already in a container you control, in a format you can read without us.
